Tourist Visa :
Visa – Rules and RegulationsA Tourist Visa is granted to those who would visit india for turism. Tourist visas May be valid for 3 months, 6 months to 1 year with single, double or multiple entries.Irrespective of the duration of the duration of validity of visa, on each visit maximum period of stay in india is limited to 6 months (180 days) only. please note the validity of visa is effective from the date of issue. In case of extension request,it is decided as per the country of which applicant is citizen. As proof of financial status is required to submit the required documents.
Tourist traveling in groups of not less than four members can be considered for allotment of collective tourist visa, only if the group is traveling under the patronage of recognized travel agency. In order to curb the abuse or missue of Turist Visa, Indian Government has issued certain instructions and restrictions,which are as follows:-
A. In casse of foregin nationals holding Tourist Visas with multiple entry facility, there should be a gap of at least 2 months between two visits to the country on such a Tourist Visa.
B. If any foregin national is required to visit thee country again within a period of 2 months of his last departure, for this special permission from the Mission/ Post concerned needs to be received.
Consents of such requests are aprroved after duly considering the merits of each case.
C. If a foregn national aplies for tourist visa frequently i.e within one month of expiry of the previous Tourist Visa, the Indian Missions/Posts abroad would refer such cases to MHA (Foreigners Division) for clearance before grant of fresh Tourist Visa.
All persons who hold Student Visa, Employment Visa and Research Visa which are valid for more than 180 days are required to get themselves registered with the nearest Foreign Registration Office (FRO) or (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival in India.
